Vacation time is most sought out time by everyone. Friends, family, colleagues... all sorts of vacation prevails these days.
When you are young, you go out with parents, once in 20s, it is all about friends. Post that, it is your own new family that we go out for vacation with.
It is a rare occasion when all joint family and specially grown up cousin's go out along with.
It has been a lucky year as I was able to go to one such vacation with my parents, sister, cousins and my own children. It was a gala time, a different experience with people from all generations put together.
There I was in the middle between the older generation and the next generation, lost in the thought of realizing which generation I belong to.
Listening to my parents, as a obedient daughter. Restricting my children from all sorts of gadgets. To see my cousins glued into mobile.I was baffled at times if I was doing the right thing with my children.
But all in all, a great vacation with pleasant memories.
This vacation was all about Himalayas and trekking. All geared up, equipped and excited to trek, 'High Altitude Trek'.
Our first hop was New Delhi. We visited some historic monuments for my children like India Gate, Qutub Minar. Musical fountain in CP was a pleasant surprise.
We traveled to Agra to get a glimpse of Taj Mahal. On the way, we had the darshan of 'Sri Krishna' in Brindavan, Mathura and Govardhan.
Next destination was Shimla, Dharamshala, Mcleodganj and then finally Manali.
The whole trip involved in having lot of baggage and issues in travelling with taxi, bus, auto all due to more number of bags, staying in hotels with many rooms. Lot of coordination was needed and each generation coming up with different idea. It needed spontaneous planning and decision making which had to satisfy all. So, I would say good management lessons learnt :-)
Manali is a small town raided by tourists and tourists looted by locals in the name of hotel, taxi, kesar, etc. Constant scene in Manali was the traffic jam which never budged to move.
Manali is a scenic place surrounded by snow covered Himalayan peaks and Beas river flowing. All other distractions is void in front of the climate and the beauty of Manali.
We trekked to Bhrigu Lake in Manali. It was a well planned trek led by India Hikes. The climax day of the trek was all in snow. It is a never imagined experience and a thrilling one which requires lot of mental and physical strength.
And slowly the time flew, and a fortnight of all these journeys, and we are all back into our own small personal space of home and office with the busy tag flags on.
During the trek, I was pretty curious why people trek which required lot of hard work. So one of the expert trek mate and told just wait till you go back home. You will have only the memories of the beautiful landscape, journey, clean air and in no time, it will make you ready to come back again.
So true.. this whole vacation has filled with me with lot of fresh energy which has made me write this blog after so long years.
Thank you.. Himalayas.. see you soon.
Grateful and Thankful to Almighty for the safe and sound vacation, a packed complex vacation.
