As I write this blog, I see that I had not written blog for a long time now.
The wierd fact is that you do something or not something, time flies and does not even give reminders!
The day I joined work after completing my engineering in 2002, I had always fantasied to do higher studies. I had given the Gate exams for MTech, but never seriously prepared, as getting a job was more important at that time. After my marriage, had even got application form to start out my MBA, but never applied as it did not fit my area of work.
Years flew by, the priority lessening each year!
Mustering courage to study even tougher.
The turning point came in May 2009. I attended this seminar by IIT, Chicago representatives from India in my company talking about the post graduate degree offered by them. It left me even more eager or better to day even more frustruating that I did not relenquish my goal.
For 2 months, I pondered over this, not sure if to go or not to go. How am I going to manage, house, office, a 3 year old naughty son, new house, its interiors, etc? The more I thought the more it looked difficult.
I presented this topic to my family, who gave me the confidence and told me to try out with one subject and see if I can manage and persue. Just this was needed!
It was like going back to school.
I did not know the admission last date, only thing I knew was I had to start somewhere at some time, and today is the best day!
I gathered all my education certificates, marks card which lay in a cupboard for 7 years.
It was August, I went to the study center and submitted all documents. They told me that I was a little late for that semester and may have to end up waiting to start from next semester.
With crossed fingers I waited.....
After few weeks, like a miracle, I got admission and confirmation for the ongoing semester.
Started out by taking one paper that semester, September 2009, and completing 11 papers with GRE in July 2011, there was no looking back. Projects, assigments, the many exams for each subject. Staying up the whole night had become a routine.
It looks to me like a dream come true....
I dont know how I did it, but I can only say I have done!
With the blessings God, thanks to my family, my husband, my parents and especially my son!
I did it!
Friends, I would like to assert that for any dreams or accomplishemnts you look forward to
Thank You.
